Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church: New Family Life Center
Project scope:
New Family Life Center
Construction Cost:
$2,700,000
Description:
The Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church, located in a rural village in southern Lancaster County, is one of the oldest churches in Lancaster County, dating back to before the Revolutionary War. The New Family Life Center will be situated across the lane from the Sanctuary and will expand their outreach to the community by providing a new 4,500 sq. ft. multi-purpose room with a commercial kitchen and stage. The education rooms are organized around a central gathering area designed with clerestory windows to flood the space with natural light. The facility is designed to appear as an indigenous complex of structures. Congregational approval was unanimous.
